[Rinoa Heartilly - 004 Video] So much good news, it's amazing! (Azalea)
[Video]
[The video feeds clicks on to a fairly familiar sight, only instead of eight badges there are only two. Not that it seems to bother the breeder who is cheerfully showing them off. No, Rinoa's face is practically glowing with good cheer. She has badges! Not one but two of them even!]
After how easy the first badge was, I just had to try for the second one too, and it worked! I would have said something after the first badge, but I was hoping if I waited I'd be able to show both of them at the same time.
[She pans the feed over then, showing off four very proud looking pokemon - a Luxray, a Flaaffy, a Growlithe, and her ever present Altaria.]
Knight did so good he even evolved again. I really wasn't expecting that.
[Her Luxray looks pretty damned smug about it, while her growlithe just looks annoyed..... or as annoyed as a pokemon can get while linefacing anyway. Stupid obnoxious pricks getting all the praise. He did good work too! Thankfully Rinoa's really good at reading lineface-ese.]
Don't worry, Griever, we'll go get you a fire stone, I promise.
[Her pokemon mollified, Rinoa moves on to the next important point of business. Eggs.]
Speaking of good news, thanks to Shinn, I've got Swablu eggs. Not to mention some Shinx and Mareep eggs too. I'm not sure what a good price for them is. I'm thinking maybe 1,000 for a Swablu, 800 for a Shinx, and 500 for a Mareep? Of course if you can't afford one and you'd really like one, I'm sure we can work something out.
I know Swablu aren't really common, so I thought I'd explain them a little. Swablu is a blue bird pokemon with clouds for wings. They're a flying and normal type to start, but when they evolve they become a Flying/Dragon type instead. Right, Angel?
[Her starter trills an affirmative, which causes the breeder to smile at her fondly. She really does love her starter to bits... anyway!]
I can't deliver them myself, so I'll have to send them through the PC. Unless someone has the TM for Fly they'd let me borrow so I can teach it to Angel? That'd be a super, big help. I'd trade an egg for one?
[Private to Shin]
Did you get your ditto back okay? I know I promised you a Swablu egg, do you think I should give the center one too?
[ooc: Sign up for the eggs can be found here. There are still a few left, mostly mareep. She'll also be taking requests for swablu eggs in the future if you missed out on one this time.]

video; - HI i'm sorry for letting this idle sob
video; Not a problem, I backtag for months, so this? This is nothing.
video;
Ah--
Of course, it helps to have good friends and pokemon companions too, to help you on your way. Heehee.
video;
Here anyone can work hard and really get somewhere. It's pretty amazing, I think.
[Sure, she's not as strong as trainers who've been here longer, but she no longer feels quite so useless as she did when she was fighting back home either.]
video;
[ She fist pumps, easily being encouraged!!--oh, this isn't one of her friends, so it might be a little goofy. Sheepishly she lowers her arm. ]
U-Umm!
[ Change the subject change the subject ]
What is a swablu, exactly? Is it a blue bird?
video;
[That's okay, Rinoa's just going to fist pump too. It's nice to be in like minded company even over video, isn't it?]
[Only she doesn't seem quite so sheepish about it. Especially not since she wasn't the only one who'd fist pumped.]
That's right. It's a blue bird with cottony wings that look kind of like clouds. My swablu's evolved already, but I can introduce you to her if you want?
video;
A blue bird? With wings that look like clouds?!--Sure! I'd love to see her!
video;
Alright then.
[It doesn't take long, because it's not very often that her starter is far from her side. Soon enough, there's an inquisitive bird face in the video feed, before Rinoa backs away to show off all of her Altaria.]
Swablu aren't very big, but this is how they look when they evolve.
video;
Immediately all Haruka can think of is her best friend Chihaya-chan singing Aoi Tori, quite possibly one of her favorite songs!!
And of course, besides the emotional attachment to the pokemon pal, it sure looks cute! ]
Uwah! It's so cute!! Are--Are those clouds?!
video;
[Angel just preens at the praise, she certainly doesn't mind being talked about when it's positive like this.]
video;
video;
It'd be a present for her, right?
video;
[ Oh this is fantastic! Certainly with this Chihaya-chan would cheer up! ]
Umm, how do you raise one, though? I found out recently that pokemon hatch from eggs, but... how do I take care of it, I guess?
video;
[Because it certainly sounds like it, which might mean the other girl is fairly new.]
Once a pokemon hatches, you take care of them pretty much the same way you would any other pokemon. Though, it's probably better to give them a few months before you start training them.
video;
[ Haruka puts on some reading glasses while Rinoa starts going over how to care for babby pokemon ]
Mmm mmm! I see!
[ Studiously jotting a few things down on a notebook... ]
So--it's just like raising a pokemon normally, except no fighting!
video;
[She smiles.]
And I'll tell you right now, I didn't bother reading most of the handbook at first, either. I just asked people about things.
That sound about right! Just take it easy on them until they're comfortable in the world, and then you can treat them the same as any other pokemon, I think? At least that's what I did.
video; wow this is old
[ Oops guess who didn't read her copy!!! ]
I-I think it's here somewhere! Umm... well, if you didn't read it, then I guess I'll be okay!
[ She sheepishly rubs the back of her hands together. ]
Maybe I should just give it to her in eggform...
